Period of Decline

Feeling the effects of Exchange expansion more now than ever, the Hutt crime-lords would cease to tolerate its operations. The resulting conflicts would see The Exchange wane in terms of galactic signifigance. So much so that the secretive upper echelons of the syndicate would vanish completely, leaving behind broken building blocks of a defeated criminal machine.

With its shadowy masters faded away, the surviving fronts and semi-legitmate wings of The Exchange continued to operate independantly well into the Clone Wars. Though there were attempts at revival, only fragments of the original organization managed to make it through millenia, changing drastically in order to survive. The majority were resigned to acting as small time slum lords on back-water planets.

During it's peak, The Exchange operated as a shadowy network of galactic crime bosses - arguably one of the most powerful criminal outfits of its time.

Having notable holdings in popular underground markets, its influence stretched across multiple sectors with fingers in everything from gun running to human trafficking. Capable of posting bounties large enough to purchase a planet and employing the most notorious of hunters, crossing The Exchange was considered a death sentence.

However, as the syndicate expanded, tensions would rise with the Hutt Cartel...

Old Republic Era

Mercenary Resurgence

With remnants of The Exchange coalescing into smaller splinter groups over the years, eventually an outfit would emerge and reclaim the title of its long dead progenator. In Year 9 CBT, a mercenary outfit claiming descendence from the original syndicate emerged under the title of The Exchange.

Bearing little resemblance to its anscestor, the new Exchange focused on "honest" mercenary work - the majority of its effort aimed at the policing its home system, Woldona.

The Exchange of today

Following a coup in Year 12 CGT, The Exchange underwent extensive reformations. No longer a peacetime economically minded outfit, it's eyes and ears were refocused on conflict and conquest.
